MUSSERT, standing on an elevation, salutes the marching WA in THE HAGUE.
To the right of MUSSERT stands ZONDERVAN. Arie Johannes Zondervan (1910-1983) was the chief of the Weerbaarheidsafdeling (WA), the paramilitary wing of the NSB in the Netherlands. Born in Berlin, he moved to the Netherlands with his family during World War I. Zondervan was known for his strong fascist beliefs and played a significant role in promoting the NSB's ideology.
