De Stormmeeuw, y 7, no. 11
De Stormmeeuw, 7th year, no. 11, November 1941
This issue belongs to the official magazine of the Jeugdstorm, the youth organization connected in practice to the NSB, led by Cornelis van Geelkerken. Although formally independent since its founding in 1934, the organization functioned closely alongside the NSB throughout the occupation period.
De Stormmeeuw was published from November 1934 until April 1945 and provides direct insight into the structure, messaging, and visual culture aimed at youth during this era. The movement’s uniforms, flags, marching, and songs played a strong role in attracting and shaping young members, especially after the prohibition of scouting organizations in 1941.
Early and mid-war issues such as this remain collectible, while later wartime editions (from mid-1944 onward) are notably scarce.
