“WA Marcheert” Postcard
“WA Marcheert” Propaganda Print
Color print in postcard format titled “WA Marcheert” (“The WA Marches”). Reverse without postcard lines.
It is a print of a large painting intended to depict the determination of WA members in a working-class neighborhood.
Despite injuries, they continue marching proudly while bystanders mock and threaten them. Even an elderly gray-haired man marches along. Several workers make the communist salute (clenched fist), while a man on the right hides two bricks behind his back — suggesting possible violence.
It almost appears as though the WA member on the left is about to step on a banana peel.
The newspaper VoVa published both a photograph and an article about this painting when it was exhibited in The Hague in 1941.
A larger print of this image was also issued.
Mint condition.
