Heldentod Adolf Hitlers

Wacht im Westen, nr 201, 2 May 1945

HELDENTOD ADOLF HITLERS
(Heroic Death of Adolf Hitler)

Front newspaper for German soldiers stationed in the Netherlands during the occupation. These newspapers were not offered for sale; each military unit received a number of copies for distribution.

This issue appeared in early May 1945 under the well-known title Wacht im Westen, but had no connection with the publication of the same name that had appeared earlier in the war.

Publisher: Dienststelle Feldpostnummer 21061. Editor: Leutnant Haas, later Leutnant Kurt Mauch.

The newspaper was probably distributed among units of the 1st Parachute Army (1. Fallschirmarmee) and the newly formed 25th Army (25. Armee).

Size: approx. 30 x 40 cm

Condition: Mint condition. Folded once.

A scarce and historically significant late-war military newspaper documenting German wartime reporting during the final days of the Second World War. Offered strictly as a historical collectible for research, documentation, and collecting purposes.
