Dutch People's Service

Nederlandse volksdienst (NVD) in DEN HAAG Hulppost voor moeder en kind

The Nederlandse Volksdienst (NVD), or Dutch People's Service, was established in July 1941, modeled after the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV) in Nazi Germany. It aimed to centralize social work in the Netherlands under the supervision of the German occupiers. The NVD provided support to Dutch citizens, including aid to bombing victims, food and clothing distribution, baby layettes for expectant mothers, youth dental care, and neighborhood nursing.

The hulppost voor moeder en kind (help post for mother and child) was one of the initiatives under the NVD to support mothers and children during that time.
