First WA Victim – Peter Ton 1940

PETER TON was the first victim of the WA who, in The Hague (Balistraat) on September 7, 1940, was killed during street violence by a police bullet. His death was used to make him a martyr, just as the NSDAP in Germany had done with the SA man Horst Wessel, who died in street fighting.

NSB propaganda film of the commemoration dedicated to Peter Ton, who was murdered in 1940. Wreaths are laid on his grave by Peter Ton’s mother, by the Jeugdstorm, and by the WA. Afterwards, a memorial ceremony follows in the Balistraat, the place where Peter Ton was murdered.
