Poster Unterführer Waffen‑SS

This fine poster of an Unterführer of the WAFFEN‑SS was printed in the NEDERLANDSCHE ROTOGRAVURE MAATSCHAPPIJ (NRM; 1913–1972), usually called the ROTO.

In this printing house in LEIDEN (HOLLAND), many different posters, postcards, brochures, magazines, calendars, etc. were printed for the German occupier and the NSB. This publisher was chosen because of the high quality of the printing work and the capacity of the factory.

This material was printed not only in Dutch but in many languages and distributed across Europe.

Among other things, the propaganda magazine SIGNAAL was printed here.

When operations ended in 1972, a former employee took some material and distributed it.

This copy comes from the NRM.

Printed on very thin paper, which is why few copies have survived.

Note: at the bottom right is the logo of the printing house: a key in a loop. Two crossed keys are the coat of arms of Leiden.
