March of the WA

The Hague, Autumn/Winter 1941

13 x 18 cm

The WA (Weerbaarheidsafdeling), or Defence Force, organized marches to demonstrate their strength and solidarity, often in support of Nazi ideology and collaboration with the German occupiers during World War II. These marches were also intended to intimidate opponents and show public support for the NSB (Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging) and its leader, Anton Mussert.

In The Hague, these marches were particularly significant as the city was the political center of the Netherlands, and marching in front of Mussert emphasized their loyalty and commitment to the Nazi cause.
